Sandhurst is thoroughly enjoying life in Australia!

It has been a fabulous year for our Bangalore C (OO Seven - Gribaldi) with his owner Rachel Taylor.   Having completed 6 times in 2011 and winning three classes and a second he has had a super 2012.  He won four classes this year with four seconds and has now won 70 BD points.

In November he won an Elementary Qualifier for the Area Festival Finals at Hartpury in April 2013.  He has a lovely photograph and write up in Horse & Hound on page 86 in the 8 November issue.  Rachel and "Mouse" are going from strength to strength and have an exciting future together.

Robert and Otis enjoying a day out with the BV and it didn't rain!  They didn't come back quite as clean as when they left home!

Fairfax C attended her third BD competition yesterday and WON her class!  She has not been out of the top ten in her other two starts so winning at West Wilts yesterday was fabulous.

She was beautifully ridden by Hannah Horton and has been extremely well produced.  One very proud breeder enjoyed being there to see her record her first win under saddle!

The foals have been weaned and are being extremely grown up, particularly St Nazaire.

A busy start to November with Caroline McLeod from Australia visiting. Having bought Sandhurst C from Camrose as a foal, Dinah and Caroline have become long distance friends so it was fabulous having her to stay. They did not stop talking from the moment Caroline got off the plane until the moment she went through security on her return flight home!

Our annnual visit for lunch at Rick Stein's in Padstow with Ann Bassett and Tony Wareham was with a plus one with Caroline being the plus one!

A visit to London to see War Horse during Caroline's visit was fabulous along with an open top bus tour ride the following day. Caroline loved the history but was not so keen on the cold!

The latest in-mate arrived - the grey Vinmix de Bessy (FR) our new French bred chaser.

Dinah was one of the CHAPS stallion graders at the Autumn grading.

It was nice to visit Samaii who is now back in the UK.  His son, St Nazaire C has certainly inherited his sire's golden temperament.

Dinah's annual visit to HOYS was thoroughly enjoyable, as usual.  The Ibbotson sisters, Kerrie and Laurie, were 3rd with their young mare Toronto's Muza at her first HOYS.

Dinah and Toro sharing a quiet moment in the collecting ring.

Tony Wareham who showed Fairfax for us was judging the conformation for the coloureds.

Fairfax C was nominated for Show Horse of the Year for 2011 by Showing World Magazine.  She was voted into the final 6 and Dinah attended the award ceremony at the Hilton Hotel at the NEC during HOYS week.

Our 2009 bred Sandfontein C who we sold as a foal has been backed this autumn.  His owner Sam was absolutely thrilled to be sitting on him for the first time - it has been a long wait!

Firebird C (Stravinsky xx - Arpeggio) is out and about doing a bit of eventing with her owner.

Once again we were chosen as one of the venues for the annual UK Oldenburg Foal inspections.  We welcomed two new German judges: Herr Rainer Ahlers and Herr Arnold Hannöver.

It was an enjoyable day with the weather being very kind and the sun shining.

We were thrilled that both St Nazaire and Louisbourg received the coveted Fohlenpramie from the Verband. Rainer Ahlers was extremely complimentary about both our colts. Louisbourg behaved immaculately, and although St Nazaire was very well behaved, he also did a fair bit of showing off!

Florida & St Nazaire

Our homebred 3 year-old filly Fair Oaks graded into the Hauptstutbuch with very good marks which was extremely pleasing. She is in foal to Christian (Cartani – Lord Liberty - Zymbal) who Rainer Ahlers was very enthusiastic about. We are looking forward to seeing what she produces next year.

The hunters have started work after a carefree summer at grass.  They are still looking rather unkept but a make over is coming!

Robert & Nevana on exercise

Otis looking a little unkept after his summer holiday!

Both the colts are growing well - there is a 10 week age difference between the two, so at times it is very difficult to compare them but both are smart babies.

Louisbourg C

Samaii's breeder, Cheryl Mitchell came to visit and see St Nazaire.  She was highly delighted with him and we took the opportunity to do a mimi photoshoot!

Not forgetting Louisbourg!

Firecrest is impressing even at the yearling stage!

Robert and Dinah went to see the show jumping at Olympics in Greenwich park.  It was the most fantastic experience and a day to remember!

Dinah was extremely lucky to also go back to London with some friends for the Dressage Kur and see Charlotte Dujardin with the individual Gold medal - it was a very emotional experience!

Our lovely Golden Retriever has been in the wars and had to endure a couple of operations but we are hoping that he is now on the mend.

Florida is back in foal to the Oldenburg show jumper Check In (Cordalme Z - Lord Pezi - Ile de Bourbon).

Her 2009 daughter, Fair Oaks, is also in foal to another show jumper, the Holstein Christian (Cartani - Lord Liberty - Zymbal).

We are very excited about both the pregnancies. Further information on both the stallions can be found at Bockmann's here.

Florianne has been left empty this year.

We had a weekend away in Devon with the family which was a lovely break and we all had a fabulous time including the dogs!  We did get to the beach with the children and just about managed to stay dry!

Florianne gave us a fabulous foal in the early hours of 23rd June!  Our long awaited Levisonn baby is a beautiful colt who is chestnut but we think will grey out.

Louisbourg C is showing us his great character and is very bold and friendly!

It is a hard decision but we cannot keep all our homebreds, so we are offering Firecrest for sale to the right competition home.

She is an outstanding dressage prospect who wowed the Oldenburg Verband at the foal inspection last year where she was awarded the coverted Fohlenpramie.

St Nazaire is continuing to grow on nicely and is becoming a firm favourite with Robert!

Dinah is extremely lucky as she has a fabulous new horsebox - all she needs to do now is use it!

Firecrest is looking like a proper little horse now – she is maturing nicely and is going to be quite spectacular.

The breeding season is really upon us with foaling, re breeding and waiting for our final foal in June.

Hussar has been sold to a fabulous dressage home. He has settled in well and we are getting regular up-dates from his happy owner!

We are extremely delighted with Florida as she produced the most fabulous coloured colt by Samaii.  We are so thrilled with him and he has been named St Nazaire C.  As usual, Florida has given us another beautiful baby and a colt too after five fillies!  Dinah having had Samaii to stay and show as a yearling before he went to Germany, it is lovely to finally have one of his foals.

Hussar went to his first show and thoroughly enjoyed his outing at Malvern - it was good education as it was a night away from home.

We have added another member to our family.  Toddrosa Brave Hussar aka Alfie.  She is settling very well and Bourbon is thoroughly loving having a new friend.

As usual, we thoroughly enjoyed our day's racing at Sandown for the Grand Military meeting.  Dinah had a great lunch in the Royal box whereas Robert was working stewarding instead!  Afterwards, it was onto Windsor Castle for drinks with The Queen, always a fun evening!

Sadly, we lost our fabulous Royal Classic filly, Francisca.  She was beautifully bred and the first filly that her dam has given us and had an exciting future ahead of her.  She is sadly missed by us all.

Robert and Otis are really enjoying their first season hunting together.

We had a bit of a "photo shoot" with Fair Oaks and Hussar the other day!

Francisca and Firecrest are growing up - never the best stage in their lives, but they are both continuing to move nicely and it is always exciting to watch their progress.

Hussar is certainly impressing us with the way he is maturing and with his movement. We are very excited about his future and the plan will be to have him out and about at a few shows this year.

Like Hussar, Fair Oaks is looking much more mature and again, she might venture out to a few shows. She has some big shoes to fill after her sister's success!

Firebird, Florida's daughter by Stravinsky xx, is continuing to do well with her owner and she will be aiming her at the BYEH series this year.
