Florencia, our new mare from Germany has arrived just in time for Christmas!

We managed a day's hunting with the S&WW.  The weather wasn't kind and the ground terrible but the "boys" thoroughly enjoyed themselves!

The foals have been weaned and Fair Oaks has left us to go to her new home in South Africa.

We are delighted that we have sold our fabulous mare Fair Oaks C to South Africa.  She will be leaving us in November to go to Midas Touch Warmblood Stud in East London, SA.

She has  an exciting future ahead of her and it will be fabulous that another of our home-breds will be flying the flag for us abroad.

We have a lovely new Oldenburg mare coming from Germany soon.   She had her first foal this year, a colt by Rotspon who is being retained by his breeder.

She  is by Florencio out of a Sandro Hit mare and  is dual graded with the Oldenburg and Hanoverian Verbands.  More information about her coming soon.

Firecrest did us proud at Dorset County being Champion Sport Horse as well as Champion Riding Horse.  She has had a successful first season in the show ring and has a bright future in sport ahead of her.  She is for sale to the right competitive home.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable and sunny day at Sycamore Farm when the Oldenburg Verband visited us for the Foal and Mare Inspections.  We welcomed Rainer Ahlers again as well as meeting for the first time Robert Conredel who both were assessing the foals and mares.

We were delighted that that both our Check In colt ?Cromwell C? and our Christian filly ?Fallen Leaf C? were awarded the coveted Fohlenprämie from the Verband.

Having seen the yearling colts last year as foals, it was good Rainer Ahlers to have a look at them.  He was impressed that they had grown on well so it is on-wards and upwards as they say!

Our lovely Firecrest C (St Moritz Junior - Arpeggio) at Bucks County Show on her third ever outing. She won the 2yo Sport Horse class and was Champion Riding Horse, then Reserve Overall Supreme in the Hacks/Riding Horse. She enjoyed the main ring buzz for the Cuddy and was impeccably behaved so we had a good day!

Cromwell is proving to be rather bold - talking to the hunters without a care in the world!

Once again, Sycamore Farm is one of the venues to be visited by the Oldenburg Verband for the inspection of mares and foals.  They will be with us on Wednesday 4th September at 1.30pm - all are welcome and lunch is provided!

Extremely sad news from Rene Tebbel's stable; the lovely Los Angeles who Florida is in foal to for a 2014 foal has sadly died of colic.  It is such a tragedy as he was one of the up and coming jumping stallions in Germany.  Our foal next year will be even more precious.

Sir Cisco has been selected for the Nordic Championships at Flyinge in September.

We have another hunter for the coming season.  Raise You Diamonds is an 8 year old ISH by Glidawn Diamond and standing 17.3hh.  "Hank" is a big gentle giant and settling in well.

A busy day at Kent County Show saw Firecrest winning the strong 2yo Sport Horse class beautifully shown for us by Matt Ainsworth.

Later that day, her half sister Fairfax was Champion Coloured for owner Stephanie Fitt.  As always she was fabulously ridden by Hannah Horton for Team Ramsay! A very delighted breeder had a great day with Florida's girls doing her and us proud.

Across the other side of the world in Perth, Australia the lovely Sandhurst C attended his first showing show under saddle in the Newcomers Hack with owner Sara in the saddle.

We are extremely excited that Florida scanning in foal to the up and coming show jumping stallion Los Angeles (Light On - Argentinus - Bariton).  With Rene Tebbel's stable, he has an exciting future ahead of him.

We have not put Fair Oaks back in foal as she is now a 4 year old and she should now fulfil her potential under saddle.  We will be retaining her filly by Christian and Fair Oaks will be for sale at weaning.

Florida's son, Sir Cisco was 7th out of 60 starters in in Bad Harzburg CCI1* in German.  His rider Inger Cathrine Bugge and Sir Cisco are in great form.

Sir Cisco competed in his first international CIC** event in Norway which he duly won!   He qualified for the World Championship for Young Horses in Le Lion d?Angers, France in October 2013.

Our annual two days at Royal Ascot was fabulous as always, it is always so enjoyable relaxing in the surroundings of the Royal Enclosure watching the crème de la crème at the top of their game.

After not much sleep after the foals were born it was a dash to the Bath & West show to watch Firecrest on her first outing.  She thought the whole thing was rather exciting and but it was successful. Firecrest won both the Hack 2/3yos and Sport Horse 2yo Filly classes!

It was an eventful evening on 28th with both mares deciding to foal within three hours of each other!

First, Fair Oaks gave us a beautiful bay filly by the grey jumping stallion Christian (Cartani - Lord Liberty - Zymbal).

Then three hours later, Florida produced a cracking chestnut colt by the jumping stallion Check In (Cordalme Z - Lord Pezi - Ile De Bourbon).

Nevana has found himself a lovely new home and we are sure that his new owner will have a lot of fun with him.

Fairfax C won the Flat Sport Horse class at Devon County Show.  As the breeder of this fabulous horse, I am extremely proud of both Dora and Hannah (who rode her beautifully). So pleased for her owner Steph who sadly couldn’t be there and I was very happy to be the stand-in owner!   Well done Team Ramsay again!

Fairfax won the Flat Sports Horse class under judge  Jennie Loriston-Clarke at Royal Windsor Show.   A fantastic win for her owner Stephanie Fitt, beautifully ridden by Hannah Horton and fabulously produced by Team Ramsay!

Yet another day out in the cold with Dinah judging at the CHAPS South West Regional Show at Stretcholt Equestrian Centre.  Signing qualification cards proved to be pretty tricky with frozen hands!

A great start to the evening season for Sir Cisco.  He took 6th place in the FEI CIC * CIC in Sweden.

Robert was stewarding at the Old Berks Point to Point at Lockinge so it was great to catch up with old friends from "home" back in Oxfordshire.  It was possibly the coldest day ever at Lockinge but we all had a great day socialising!

We had a super day on day 1 of the Cheltenham Festival.  I do not think we have ever been so cold but the racing was exciting so it certainly kept us warm cheering them home!

As usual, we thoroughly enjoyed our day's racing at Sandown for the Grand Military meeting.  It was the 150th Anniversay so a great lunch was enjoyed.  Robert was working stewarding and we  had a good days racing.

Afterwards, it was onto Windsor Castle for drinks with The Queen, always a fun evening!

We have a new member to the team - a big welcome to Ella.  She is super with the young horses and thoroughly enjoying sharing the exercising with Dinah.

The snow made for a good start to 2013 but the dogs and horses thoroughly enjoyed themselves!
